So, I didn't follow through very well with my blogging resolution last year. So, here goes again. The "New Year" is supposed to be representative of "New Beginnings" and "Fresh Starts". In keeping with tradition, here are my top 10 Resolutions for 2014.
1. Grow Spiritually---this can go many different ways, but the main focus is growing my personal journey with Christ. Really delving into the word and studying, asking questions, etc.
2. Be a Good Role Model--I have so many little ones looking up to me now, and I want to be the best example I can be. Not just when I'm with them, but in everything I do. You never know who's watching. I want their parents to feel safe in knowing that I'm helping guide their precious ones in the right path. One day I will have my own and this is great practice. :)
3. Be as Close to a Proverb's 31 Wife as I Can Be--I've tried this before, and it's not worked to well. I will finish the study I have on this and do it over and over. I have each time you study something, you learn something new from it.
4. Run a Half-Marathon....or 3!--I tried this last summer and due to circumstances beyond my control, I was not able to fulfill this goal. Here we go again! Berry Half....Here I come!!!
5. Cook, actually cook, at least 4 times a week--Brack and I have resolved to live healthier in 2014. God has really blessed us in the last few weeks with some answered prayers, and now it's time to put "our money where our mouths are".
6. Keep in Touch--There are wonderful friends out there that I've let fall to the side. I want to have "get togethers" regularly and build lasting friendships with other couples so that we can be a wonderful, Godly, support system for each other.
7. Have a "Girl's Weekend"--Alright girls, it's time we get together and catch up. Let's make this a yearly thing!! I'll be in touch.. ;)
8. Visit the Grand Canyon--We tried to do this last summer, but didn't have time during our trip out west. I'd love to see this wonderful display of God's Majesty in person. (There are lots more on this list, but it would take for ever to list them out.)
9. Prepare for Motherhood--I heard a story all throughout my childhood about two farmers who prayed for rain. Only one went and prepared his fields to receive the rain for which he prayed, and he was richly blessed. I want to be ready for motherhood physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally so that when God says "It's time" I am as ready as I can possibly get.
10. Live in the Moment--I want to be present and live every moment to the fullest. I want to look as a sunset and actually see the sunset. I want to appreciate all the blessings and trials as they come without worrying what is coming next. My God said He'd never leave me nor forsake me. That means in the good, the bad, and the ugly, He's right there holding my hand. When I can't walk anymore, He will carry me through. I want to remember every single moment of this next year and all the years to come.
Happy New Year, friends. May the Lord bless you and yours!!
